Calicéo accelerates its development acquiring "Les Cent Ciels"

With eight centers opened in France since 1997, Calicéo is now the leader in local balneotherapy. Taken over in 2018 by Ekkio Capital and a management team led by Marc Léonard and Emmanuel Guzman, the company offers a unique concept combining balneotherapy, modern fitness equipment and treatments, at affordable prices.

In January 2024, Calicéo opened the Lieusaint center in Seine-et-Marne, the second Calicéo site based in the Île-de-France region (after Versailles - Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole in September 2023). The 5,000 sq. m. center offers balneotherapy facilities, a spa and a complete range of wellness, health and fitness treatments.

The acquisition of the Les Cent Ciels brand, which operates six wellness establishments in the heart of cities (Paris, Boulogne-Billancourt, Strasbourg, Lille, Lyon, Bordeaux) - www.paris.hammam-lescentciels.com - enables Calicéo to confirm its position as market leader. This strategic alliance will enable the brand to offer a complementary range, combining balneotherapy centers on the outskirts of major cities (up to 5,000 m² in size) and wellness areas in city centers (between 800 and 1,700 m² in size).

Calicéo is also stepping up its energy transition to renewable energies, which has already begun in earnest with the use of geothermal energy.

With the entry of Bpifrance and Carvest into the company's capital, joining the historical shareholders who have renewed their support, Calicéo has entered a new phase in its development in France.

Marc Léonard, President of Calicéo, declares: « Alongside our historic investors EKKIO Capital, BNP Développement, GF Investissement and management, we are delighted to open our capital to two long-term private equity institutions: Carvest and Bpifrance. This consolidation of our financial structure provides us with the resources we need to pursue a resolutely ambitious development policy.. »

Nicolas Beaugendre, Associate with Ekkio Capital, indicates : « This operation further establishes Calicéo as the leader in local balneoludism, with two complementary establishment formats. We are delighted that Bpifrance and Carvest have joined us in Calicéo's capital.. »
